10 Best Romantic Movies for the perfect Movie night

1. 'Sleepless in Seattle' (1993)

Ranked #87 on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 greatest American romantic comedies of all time, Sleepless in Seattle tells the story of recently widowed Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks), who communicates his loneliness by repeatedly calling a radio talk show devoted to those searching for true love.

When he hears a woman's voice describing her version of a perfect romantic partner, Sam contacts her through the show, and they discover that she is his son Jonah's (Ross Malinger) new teacher, Miss Duritz (Meg Ryan).

2. 'The Notebook' (2004)

This movie is about a long-time love story between two young lovers, Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, who meet as children in a summer camp. The relationship was built up by their friendship, which started when they were seniors at Duke University.

They meet again after time has passed, but Allie's wealthy parents disapprove of the impoverished Noah, given that he plans on asking Allie to marry him once college is finished. This all motivates her to move away from him and rethink her future plans for herself without giving into what others want for her life.

3. 'Ghost' (1990)

A romantic supernatural drama, Ghost tells the story of Sam Wheat (Patrick Swayze), a young banker in New York who falls deeply in love with Molly Jensen (Demi Moore). They are perfect together, but on the day they are planning to be married, he is murdered.

Their romantic journey does not have a happy ending—at least not at first since Sam cannot leave Molly and his best friend Carl (Tony Goldwyn) alone. He will do whatever it takes to protect her from the man who killed him. Can Sam save Molly?

4. 'A walk to remember' (2002)

It is an adaptation of a novel written by Nicholas Sparks. It's the story of two opposites—the popular and arrogant Jamie and Landon Carter, a new student at his high school and a shy loner.

From our perspective, it is an excellent movie that makes you laugh but also touches your heart when it displays how difficult life can be sometimes, even when you are in love. In my opinion, it does not have something unique or exceptional that makes it different from most other love stories, but overall, they did a good job on this one.

5. 'The Bridges of Madison County' (1995)

A romantic drama based on a 1992 novel by Robert James Waller about two people in an extramarital affair that was made into a movie by Clint Eastwood, The Bridges of Madison County tells the story of Francesca Johnson (Meryl Streep), a woman who lives in Iowa in 1965.

Her husband Bud will be gone for several days, so she decides to take pictures around the area. One day, while taking pictures at the covered bridges, she meets Robert Kincaid (Eastwood). Although their romantic relationship is short, it will change them forever.

6. 'Before Sunrise' (1995)

A romantic drama and romantic movie for couples, Before Sunrise tells the story of Jesse (Ethan Hawke), an American tourist visiting Vienna who spends a romantic night with Céline (Julie Delpy), a French student of philosophy returning home from school. A conversation between two strangers about love, life, family, and friendship ensues as they find out more about each other during a one-day trip in Vienna.

She is certain that it's the right thing to do until she meets Robert (Robert Downey Jr.), an Italian American baker, and suddenly everything changes for her.

10. 'The Scarlet Letter' (1995)

A romantic drama based on Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel, The Scarlet Letter tells the story of Hester Prynne (Demi Moore), a woman who is wrongly condemned to wear a scarlet letter 'A' for adultery.
